Thoughts on The Lovely Bones (Film)

Movie Information

Academy Award winning director/producer Peter Jackon has a new movie, The Lovely Bones, based on the book by the same name by writer Alice Sebold. The movie is about a girl, Susie Salmon, who is violently killed by a murderer who kills women and girls. She goes to a Heavenlike place (the in between) as she watches her family grieve over her while her killer, who is planning to kill again, still haunts her. The list of the actors and characters in the film are below, and the movie is scheduled for relase on December 11, 2009.

My Thoughts

Based on Peter Jackson's previous works, I believe that this is going to be a great movie. I truly trust that Peter has the potential to make this great book into a great movie. He really knows what he's doing, and he doesn't just throw junk out like many directors do. He actually spends time working on a quality film. Hopefully this film is under the category of quality film. From the trailer, the movie looks visually amazing. The visuals resemble Where Dreams May Come Starring Robin Williams except modernized. A link to the trailer is below. In a movie like this, the story needs to be well told, so I have very high expectations for this movie. The trailer really engages you into the story, with even the trailer having a dark yet lively feeling to it because of the beautiful, yet dark, music.

Actors:

Saoirse Ronan - Susie Salmon

Rachel Weisz - mother

Mark Wahlberg - father

Susan Sarandon - grandmother

Stanley Tucci - George Harvey (murderer)
