Light-Sabers & Lasers
I am a film-maker. Through and through this is what I do, and being one of those has allowed me to play with some cool toys and tech over the years. About 3 or 4 years ago I was absolutely obsessed with the prospect of achieving what I felt to be 'ILM' standard visual FX in my bedroom. I wanted explosions, robots, guns and light sabers and like a blessing from the sky, a software company made itself apparent to me on google to alleviate my craving for my own VFX house.
Ladies and gents, I present fxhome.com Nowadays, most of us own a video camera, even in HD quality with the introduction of the flip mino and it's counterparts. Everyone has the potential to be a film-maker, there is no limit. Granted, it takes a talent to separate the lads from the boys, the good ones from the bad, but that is not to say that we shouldn't all have a bit of fun with the amazing technology out there that allows us to use our 'ma and pa' type cameras for visual masterpieces.
If I have learnt one thing over the years of lurking in geek communities, I know that most have a particular liking toward the stereotypical genre fxhome software allows you to produce. You can create lightsaber battles, to laser beam fights, it is all possible.
Want to create something like this? Do it then!
Their software is dirt cheap and I thought I may as well share my love for FXhome with the community. I hope I don't sound too much like an add, I am trying to find the fine line between sharing passion for a cool link and sounding like I am spamming.
Anyway, all true geeks should love the play with software, so what you waiting for? Grab your friends, a camera and download the FREE unlimited use trial of any FXhome software and make the next Star Wars.
George Lucas, eat your heart out!
