Hackintosh from Start to Finish: Installing Mountain Lion DP1

Earlier this week, Apple released the OS X Mountain Lion developer preview to the masses. Of course, it was only a matter of time before it ended up on a Hackintosh system. In this video, I show you how to do exactly that! Keep in mind, I don't recommend using this as your primary operating system. This is just a developer preview, which means that it's bound to be buggy.

Here's what you're going to need:

Fortunately, this process is very similar to installing the Lion developer preview, which I made a video on about a year ago. Once the official version of Mountain Lion comes out, I'm sure there will be an all-in-one utility for setting up a flash drive, but this method will have to do for now. While this video is part of my "Hackintosh From Start to Finish" series, it isn't required. This video is meant for people like me that like to install the latest and greatest to see what's new. If you're not very interested in Mountain Lion, or don't have the hard drive space for it, then don't do this! On the other hand, feel free to go along with me if you're interested.

It's also worth mentioning that post-installation isn't totally there at this point. Since this is a new OS, a lot of the kexts (drivers) from Lion won't work, thus, some features such as graphics or audio may not work at this time. This highly depends on your hardware. Let me know how the installation goes!
