Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones Review
These are, simply put, the ultimate fashion for in-ear headphones at the moment. Usually when technology companies team up with celebrities the results aren't all that great, but Monster have defiantly pulled this one off.
The Good
Sound quality from these bad boys is better than any in-ear headphone I've ever used, great bass on them and they really pick out the vocals. I'm sure there's some boring stuff I could tell you about how this works - but do we really care?
Crank the volume up; these beasts have some serious power in them. I read somewhere it's all do with magnets and took ten years to develop, and boy you notice. When you’re playing music to the max (as it should be heard), there's no distortion, just great sound.
For the tangle free wire Monster has taken inspiration from speaker cables that run under carpets and made the cable flat and it feels like a really good quality cable. You can stuff them in your pocket and when you take them out it's not all tangled up.
The Bad
The bits, which stick in your ear, are quite long, and I guess if you have small ear holes they might be a bit uncomfortable.
Main problem is the price, in the UK there nearly £150 which is a lot for a set of headphones and more than a brand new 8g iPod Nano. They are good headphones, whether or not there worth that kind of cash, I'm not so sure.
Star Rating
I've given the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre 4 stars, because although they are great quality, they're not worth £150, if they were £50 then 5 stars all the way. Sorry Dr.
