Unboxing: Joby GorillaPod Hybrid

If you’re subscribed to my Youtube channel, then you might have seen my Joby GorillaMobile unboxing video. However, if you’re a new viewer of mine, then this product probably needs an introduction. This is an unboxing video of the Joby GorillaPod Hybrid. Before I go any further, I want to thank Joby for sending the Hybrid my way to review for you.

I know you’re thinking “This sounds like a jungle creature mixed with an iPod”, but that’s not quite right. Actually, you’re not even close. The GorillaPod is a series of tripods made by Joby. What these tripods allow you to do is take them pretty much anywhere and get a great shot when using your camera. One of the key features of the GorillaPod products is the ability to wrap around objects, such as poles. They also allow the user to get a nice straight shot on uneven ground.  

This particular product features an aluminum ballhead, allowing the camera to be rotated a full 360° very smoothly. The mechanism even allows the camera to be tilted at a full 90° angle; perfect for portrait shots! The Hybrid also features a built in level to be sure that you get a nice straight shot. The "arms" of this tripod are very solid, which makes holding almost any camera or camcorder a breeze. From the moment I opened the package, I could tell that Joby has put a lot of thought into the design of this product. At this point in time, I really can't think of anything that this product is missing.

Joby makes many different types of this product, each having their own purpose. The GorillaPod Hybrid is meant specifically for hybrid cameras or compact camcorders, while the GorillaMobile is great for mobile phones like the iPhone 4S. I have yet to be disappointed with any of my Joby products, so I look forward to reviewing the GorillaPod Hybrid! Be sure to check this product out on Joby's website.
