New iPad Camera & iMovie Demo

Ever since I got my new iPad, I've been wanting to produce some videos on it to see what it can do. The iPad is the most popular "post-PC device" on the market, so I had my expectations set high from the start. I decided to download iMove for the iPad this weekend to get started on this little experiment.

Since the new iPad has a great HD camera on the back, this made filming very enjoyable on the big screen. When recording, it seemed like I could just reach and grab the items that i was filming; the screen is stunning. While some people think that filming with the iPad looks ridiculous, it actually offers a really nice experience and is fun to use. While I wouldn't recommend using the iPad for serious video production, it makes recording fun and easy. iMovie was also fun to use. The app offers basic functionality, however I feel that it will be updated to include more features over time. The average consumer won't need anything more out of iMovie at this point.

Overall, I found it very fun and enjoyable to shoot, edit, and upload a video, all completely away from my desktop computer. I find it amazing that a high quality production can be done from anywhere with devices like the iPad. What do you think of editing on the iPad? Is it something that you'd do?
