What Products To Consider Before Amazon Fi

There has been a lot of demand for the Amazon Fire, to be released in mid November.  It has been estimated that 50,000 pre-orders for the Fire occur every day.  The Fire is the first tablet by a major company to be released under $500.  I.  Before making my decision whether to buy one or not I considered the following:

Other factors to consider:

Speed:  The Amazon Fire is expected to run faster then any other tablet in the market due to the use of Amazon's servers to load webpages

Storage:  The Amazon Fire has free unlimited storage online on Amazon's cloud drive.  The iPod Touch has 5GB of free storage online on Apple's iCloud.

Touch Response Time:  The iPod Touch has the most responsive touch screen of the three that have already been released.  The Amazon Fire has yet to be used and/or reviewed by the public.

Please leave a comment on which is most appealing to you.

Boogie Board Rip Available for Pre-Order

Ever since I heard of the LCD writing tablet called the Boogie Board I have been interested by it.  The Boogie Board utilizes a reflective, pressure-sensitive, plastic liquid crystal display, also known as an LCD panel, that can be written on.  It seems it would solve all the problems I have writing notes and reminders for myself, but I have never been willing to cough up the money they ask for it.  Improv electronics announced they would be releasing the Boogie Board Rip last month and my interest rekindled due to it being the first Boogie Board that can save your work.  Yesterday they started allowing pre-orders for the device, at $129.99.

A Summary of Blockbuster and Netflix's Changes

Netflix has been changing pretty rapidly recently.  They first announced their price changes which caused for complaint and cancellation of subscriptions.  Then they announced Qwikster on the 18th, which will from now on be what Netflix's DVD-by-mail feature used to be, plus the option for video games by mail for an extra fee.  Netflix's website will continue its' online streaming, but that's it. The two websites will be completely separated, different bills, different prices, etc.  They also announced their integration with Facebook for Canada and Latin America.  It all seems to be a down spin for Netflix, and judging by what the CEO has written on the Netflix blog, they are confused on what to do.

Dish on the other hand is driving Blockbuster the opposite way; they are adopting what Netflix used to be - DVD's through mail and online streaming.  Blockbuster Online will continue it's DVD-by-Mail service, which I am a fan of, and Dish customers will have the chance of purchasing a Movie Pass monthly for $10, which entitles them to Blockbusters online streaming media.  This feature will soon be available to everyone.  Dish needs to make Blockbuster the online service that also has convenient stores, available to everyone.  That is the only way they are going to succeed.

If you are looking for an answer to what media subscription you should get, I do not quite have an answer. I have always been a fan of Blockbuster Online for it's combination of new movies and video games through mail.  If that is all you want, then try out Blockbuster.  If you want online streaming only, don't wait for Blockbuster, Netflix is the way to go because you know you will get fairly good service, and you will probably have better luck playing videos on other devices besides the computer.  If you want it all I say Blockbuster Online with Netflix's online streaming plan.  Netflix has been tying me down with their DVD-by-Mail and online streaming combo.  This Qwikster idea gives me the chance to go with Blockbuster for DVDs and Netflix for online streaming.

Facebook's Timeline and Other New Features

Recently I have been trying out Facebook's new features and looks that will soon be released publicly.  You can try the future Facebook if you're a registered Facebook developer; the steps to becoming one are listed by TechCrunch.

I find the new Facebook to be a lot easier to use.  It seems more organized and more customizable. (But not Myspace customizable thank Zuckerberg.)  I expect a lot of you and the other millions of Facebook users will complain, if you already haven't and there will probably be many attempted rebellions against the changes.  Maybe Google+'s time to shine is here, or maybe not.  I'm just messing around, of course it's not.

Anyway,  I hope that we can all adjust to it without much trouble.  We all need to realize that the web advances just as fast as technology does in general.  If you're the type of person who wants everything to stay the same then, I am sorry to say, the web is not for you.  Please leave a comment expressing your opinion of Facebook's new features.
