VXchng's Brand New Data Center Will Change Philly's Tech Scene For The Better

A new facility has been erected in Philadelphia; Data Centers provider vXchnge is looking to empower the city and to get even more involved with the tech community at large.

What used to once be a manufacturing plant run by GlaxoSmithKline was recently transformed into the companies 15th location. It resides in a historic spot located at 1500 Spring Garden Street; right in the heart of the city. The senior management of the 3 year running vXchnge company hail from the Switch and Data which is a data center that was acquired by Equinix back in 2010.

Travel Republic Outsource New IT Department To Aid Growth

This week, popular travel agency Travel Republic has cemented its position at the top of the market with a major infrastructure development. According to travel news website Travolution, it has just put the finishing touches to a large scale integration with channel management company eRevMax. The venture comes hot on the heels of a busy twelve months for the company.

In 2014, it made the decision to outsource its IT department in a bid to encourage faster growth and expansion. The owner of Travel Republic, DNATA, has not only rapidly increased the size of its IT development resources, it even went as far as to launch a new branch in India. If these changes were not enough, it was also revealed that its single remaining founder, Paul Furner, would be leaving the company.

Sony Sells Over 4.1 Million PS4's (ITT)

This week was the beginning of CES2015 (Consumer Electronic Show) and there was a lot shown within the last couple of days. With new and useful gadgets and applications being displayed, and the announcement of new 4K televisions you can see why a lot of people get excited to attend this yearly event. Xbox One SDK Released (ITT)

Going into the New Year it is apparent that 2015 is going to be an interesting year for technology. Today’s Interesting Tech Topics should prove that in some way or another. With a new way to pay parking tickets being developed in New York City, to a curved HD monitor for gaming, to even a lens that can detect eye disease before it even begins. Mac OSX 10.10 Revealed 

There was a lot of interesting thing’s going on this week, such as the co-founder of the pirate bay getting arrested, or Justin.tv announcing that they are going to be deleting their video archives on June 8th. But one thing that really stood out was the WWDC Conference that was held on June 2nd. Although not a lot of hardware changes were announced, the software side of things did get some big announcements this week. For example the OSX10.10 Yosemite being shown at Apple’s keynote presentation. Although a lot of the changes that were made seemed to be in the visual department, some new features were added to give it some more hype. Giving the new updated OS more mobile controls, this version of the OSX line up is looking more promising by the day.
