Wikipedia killed? Wolfram Alpha Released Today

As you all may know, Wolfram Alpha was officially released today. What it does is instead of searching for something, and then redirecting you to another place where you can find the answer, or making you read a lot to get the answer, it will tell you the answer right off the bat. Wolfram Alpha gives you basic facts about things. For instance, if I type in "Bob Barker," it will tell me his full name, date of birth, stuff like that; stuff you may need for a research paper, or something like that.

Some people say that Wolfram will "kill" popular go-to sites for information, like Google and Wikipedia. I have to disagree, at least for now. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and gives you a lot of information. Wolfram does not; it gives you easy facts that you may need to know. The easy thing about it though is you don't have to skim through a lot of reading to find what you are looking for. Another really neat thign about Wolfram is that it will answer any math problem, draw the graphs, show different formulas and parabolas and all that mumbo-jumbo. I found that really cool, and I think the math part is the strongest part of Wolfram Alpha at this moment in time.

So does Wolfram Alpha kill Wikipedia? No, but remember, today is its first day out there officially, and already it's looking pretty strong. Plus it's really fun to mess around with. This definetely will be big.
