Windows 10 Overview & Thoughts

On Wednesday July 29th Microsoft has finally released Windows 10 taking it out of the Beta form and giving it a full release to the public. If you were a Windows 7 or Windows 8 user, you were given the chance to get a free upgrade by reserving it or pay the $120+ for a copy of the program. If you had a reserved copy you were notified that your upgrade was available, or letting you know that a copy will be available for your computer soon. Most of the delays are due to computer manufacturers preparing drivers for the operating system, or minor bugs being fixed. • Employees who use PCs older than 4 years lose 21 more hours per year due to maintenance and security issues
• 8% of small businesses in the US (the largest percentage of all countries surveyed) use PCs older than 5 years – compared to just 5% worldwide and 1% in India

So obviously maintenance is a big problem.  But, it’s a problem that’s not always easily solved.  Most businesses may already have a tight profit margin, so buying new equipment isn’t necessarily an option.

While browsing the internet I found a new type of virus scanning software that acted like a combo fix kind of deal. This scanner was called “Advance System Care” and advance is about right. This is a multi-purpose type of application that not only takes care of just viruses but can also defragment your computer or even check for other variants of harmful applications. It ranked in the top ten on CNET’s top download list and is recommended by other users as well. So seeing this application edged me into downloading it. So after taking the time to install it I began to use it to see what all of the fuss is about, and I won’t lie I was impressed by this software as well.
