Bike Tech: Things I Have Not Seen Before

For Christmas, I asked my parents for a new Bike. Since they had no clue on what kind of bike I wanted my dad took me to pick out a bike. While walking into this high end bike store I found myself dumbfounded because I never new this much tech for bikes existed. For example, I knew there were simple bike odometers, but the ones here were so complex I was looking in awe. Wireless receivers from the actual unit to the receiver on the wheel, the numerous amounts of information actually displayed are all things I would never expect on something like this. Another thing are the complex system of pedals and special shoes you have to wear to actually used them, I never knew this existed until now! Finally, I was totally in shock when I found the suspension system on the bike I actually got (GT Avalanche 2.0) and how precise it could be. A simple flip of a wheel turns the whole suspension off. Another wheel that controls how much force needs to be put on the bike for the suspension actually to give in. As loving biking around with friends as much as I do, I really want to put myself into this new category of tech I never knew existed until now. As for the bike I got, GT Avalanche 2.0, I am very grateful that my parents bought this for me I am completely blown away with al these innovations going into the bike I am so excited into researching more on!
