BoinxTV: A TV Studio For The Rest of Us

Just recently Mac Heist released its usual bundle and the application that caused the most hype was BoinxTV. BoinxTV is a TV studio 'for the rest of us'. It allows you to turn your Mac into a media studio where you can record podcasts, stream live to the web, and record videos. With over thirty features and a friendly interface BoinxTV allows one person to manage an entire recording session with ease.

Upon opening Boinx, you will be prompted to choose a template ranging from a sports report to a new broadcast and even a custom template where you can add your own effects. The 'recording studio' will then open with an interface, similar to an iMovie and GarageBand mix. Two mini screens will appear on each side of your layers panel. One that shows a preview of the effect you’re editing and one that shows you what anyone watching your video feed will see.

BoinxTV has the ability uses various inputs like video cameras, microphones, and prerecorded material. These inputs can be used in several layers that can be stackedon top of each other, toggled on and off, and dynamically controlled.Multiple layers, for example a ticker tape, a station logo, lower thirdsand many more, can be placed on top of a video source, creating aprofessional-looking result as if you were live in a recording studio instead of the room that your Mac happens to be in. My favorite feature happens to be the 3D Camera View layer. This feature allows me to position and have multiple camera angles to give my viewers the ability to see the video feed at many perspectives. Another popular feature is the ability to show your Twitter updates. Just a simple username and password and you and your viewers can see who's updating on the popular social networking site.

If you are interested in a possible career in news broadcasting or just want to spoof up your videos then BoinxTV is the right application for you. Starting at seemingly high price of $199, BoinxTV is equipped with many features and endless possibilities allowing the 'average Joe' to be the Internet's top news anchor. BoinxTV was developed by Boinx Software, who are fixed on making presentations of any sort more professional with applications like iStopMotion.
