« How To: Set-Up XP Mode in Windows 7 | Main | App Review: Lie Detector »

It's official: Zune HD coming in the fall.

Here is the Zune HD.

We have all seen leaks of it and now it's official. Today Microsoft announced that the Zune HD is official and will be on store shelfs this fall. Microsoft has not said the specifications of the Zune HD like storage space and CPU speeds. It looks mostly the same from the leaks, but instead of it being sliver and black its gold and black. The display is a 420x272 OLED 3.3 inch capacitive touch screen. Although, the Zune HD will not run Windows Mobile as for now, instead it will run acustomversionfor the Zune OS. The Zune HD also has a HD Radio receiver built in and has HD output. Microsoft said that it will have more integration with Xbox LIVE, which could mean something since E3 is right around the corner. Also Zune Marketplace will step in and replace LIVE videoresources. It seems like Xbox Live maybe be the Zune HD's App Store. Will this kill the iPod Touch? We just have to wait until fall and see.

I think I might get one. I don't really think it'll beat the iPod Touch, but it looks like a nice competitor.

I love the design...I would definitely buy one.The Ipod touch will never go out of style partly because its the first of its kind and I like the style of both...Also just because I'm a Microsoft person does not mean i don't want apple to not succeed.Who would we compete with?Linux(that wouldn't really be a challenge)Yes the Zune HD might become the new Ipod in a sense. Also it might be cheaper!
