You can use the 3G as a modem. You can also record video. When on vacation you don’t need to pay roaming, rather you can use a prepaid card.

In addition enhanced GPS capabilities and Nintendo games like Monkey Island can be enjoyed on a jailbroken iPod. There are more reasons than fingers on you hand to jailbreak an iPod or iPhone. Do it safely and you will never be sorry.
