Microsoft Retail Store Coming...

Microsoft has signed two leases for their upcoming retail store to compete against Apple. The first two locations will be in Scottsdale, Arizona & Mission Viejo, California. The Mission Viejo location will be in the same mall that an Apple Store is located. Microsoft claimed that, "some stores will be right near Apple Stores." Concepts for the retail store seem similar to those of Apple. They plan on having an "Answer Bar" or "Guru Bar", large digital media walls presenting dynamic information & images, & their popular "Surface" computing table.

The first store's opening is scheduled for fall '09, convenient for the Windows 7 launch on October 22.

The thing is with me, I have always thought that Microsoft was more of a software company. Therefore, it makes me wonder what they are going to sell. Well obviously I know they are going to sell Microsoft products but, what else. Apple stores sells computers and software. Are they going to sell along with the software, Dells, HP? Stuff like that just makes me think. But I am sure when I visit one, I will know.
