Bodega: The Mac App Store
Love the App Store? Well now there’s something similar called ‘Bodega’, the App Store for MAC OS X. Bodega is just like the App Store: that all-in-one browse/download/buy experience.
Bodega was released by IDFusion Software in the first week of August. The program has a list of applications (both free and paid) that users can download, review, and buy; just like the App Store. Bodega allows you to purchase an app directly from the developer.
When opening Bodega, you are greeted with: “New Releases”, “Shopkeeper’s Picks”, “Top Free Downloads”, & “Top Paid Downloads.” The apps in Bodega are nicely categorized and well structured. The only downside is that Bodega is still new so there isn’t as many apps as there is in the App Store. But if Bodega succeeds, it’ll be because of the developers who submitted their applications.
Do I believe Bodega has a future? Absolutely, up until (or if) Apple ever releases an App Store for Mac. Bodega is free to download, so give it a test drive and tell me what you think!
