New Mac OS Next Week?

It has just been anounced that Apple is holding a conference a week from today (20th October). As you can see in the picture, there is a lion in the background. Maybe we will finally see OS X 10.7 Lion? I think this is quite probable. Another thing that is likely to appear at this event is a refresh of the Macbook Air, which seems to be forgotten about by Apple. It was rumoured that a new MacBook Air will be launching soon and will have a smaller screen, presumably to make it more portable. Hopefully at this event we will see new Apple software such as iLife and iWork. These were only updated last year, so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a update, but it would be nice.

This news has spread all over the Internet and already blogs and websites are speculating what could be released, but they all seem to think that there will be some sort of preview/release of OS X 10.7, and performance boosts for the Macs. It is speculated that Apple will make the move to incorporate multi-touch into their computers. I don't think people would want touchscreen laptops; if they did, they would surely get an iPad and the trackpad is already multi-touch, so I don't have much faith in this idea.

We will just have to wait and see next week. The event is on Wednesday 20th October 2010 @ 10 AM PST. To get live updates, go to engadget.com.

I am very excited for the event next Wednesday! I think we will at least see a preview of 10.7 and I think it will be called Lion just like basically everyone else. I don't think Apple will do much with their computers though. I think this event will be mostly about software and Mac OS X. I wouldn't expect anything to be done to their MacBooks that they have right now except possibly the MacBook Air.

Whatever they announce, I'm sure it will make AAPL go up even higher than 300!
