Apple Daily 11/18/10

T.J. Maxx Offering 16 GB Wi-Fi iPads for $399 [Updated: Marshalls Too]

So what I thought immediately after I read this story was, how can they do this? Basicially to recap what is happening, TJ Maxx is offering the iPad(16GB+Wi-Fi) for only $399, which is $100 under the normal MSRP. It seems to me this results in one of two ways, one, they continue to lose money selling the iPad at a lower price thus not making a profit. Two, Apple may be loosing money as other companies see that "if they can do this, why don't we do this?" Now then all other companies start selling the product for less, what is the point of the product being $499? This is something that I am very confused about and we'll see how it turns out. Also TJ Maxx is not saying what stores have the discount, you have to call or go and find out for yourself.

Carbon fiber could be Apple's key to a lighter next-gen iPad

So Apple is thinking/exploring the idea of having carbon fiber in theiPad. Now many have complained about the iPad being to heavy, and this would be a perfect solution without sacrificing the strength. This is not new that we see Apple looking at other options, and based on some of the patents that we see come out of the Apple World, we may never see this in our hands.

Apple issues iOS 4.2.1 golden master for iPhone, iPad to developers

And they won't stop coming! This is the third, and hopefully final, GM of iOS 4.2. There was numerous issues reported with the other GM's including Wi-Fi connectivity problems and some other small things. Apple has to push this out within 12 days to meet the original November release date.
