Technology in 2011
With 2011 just around the corner, people will start wondering what sort of technology to expect in the new year, well here I am going to explain what technologies I believe will be introduced to the world in 2011.
Millions of people use the mobile internet, and generally use 3G with smartphones, in 2011 I would expect that phone companys will be introducing 4G to the world. 4G is the fourth installment to the mobile internet, it succeeds 3G and should be the fastest of all mobile technologies to date.
In 2007 Apple released the iPhone, this phone changed the celluar world for the greater good in a way that nobody would of anticipated 10 years before. With the release of the iPhone 4 last June, people were merely disappointed with the product due to the antenna problems, however Apple were quick to act on this. So in 2011 I am expecting the release of the iPhone 5, the fifth device in the iPhone series, with the iPhone 5 I would expect the product to be around the same size of the current iPhone, however with a different shell due to the antenna problem with the last iPhone.
Last year, Apple announced the release of their first tablet; the iPad. Many people could not explain why the iPad would be needed in everyday use as for the capabilities were very much like the iPod Touch. Well in 2011 people will be expecting apple to release a successor to the iPad, with the iPad 2 as people are calling it. With the iPad 2 I would expect them to introduce FaceTime to the product, obviously to have facetime the iPad would have to have a built-in front facing camara, so who says they won't have a camara on the back aswell.
Way back in 2004, Nintendo introduced a device called the Nintendo DS, this was a big breakthrough for the mobile games industry; the device had including a touch-screen, back then touch-screens were widely anticipated. Well in 2011 Nintendo have confirmed that they will release the latest installment to the DS series, with the Nintendo 3DS, hence the name, this games device has 3D capabilities. And Nintendo have claimed that the device works without 3D glasses.
