PleaseRobMe.com alerts the world when you are not at home
Do you like to play Foursquare? For those that do not know, Foursquare is an iPhone or Blackberry game that allows users to "check-in" at venues and then tweets what venue you are at to Twitter. Sounds like a harmless, fun game right? Well it was, until someone created a site called PleaseRobMe.com.
PleaseRobMe.com is a site that pulls Foursquare's check-ins, and tells the world who is not at home. It also labels that user as a new "opportunity" to rob them. Foursquare still sounding fun to you? I didn't think so.
It is not Foursquare's fault that PleaseRobMe.com is using their API. It does, however, make you feel uneasy about playing these "check-in" games. Maybe everyone doesn't have to know you are at a gas station, or eating at a restaurant. After all, these are pointless tweets that have no meaning. Then again, it's still fun to do. We can only hope that PleaseRobMe.com will get shut down as soon as possible. Until then, I suggest you not use Foursquare.

If you read the "Why" sections of the website it says,
"The goal of this website is to raise some awareness on this issue and have people think about how they use services like Foursquare, Brightkite, Google Buzz etc. Because all this site is, is a dressed up Twitter search page. Everybody can get this information".
