Samsung Translucent OLED may hit retail soon

You might have seen this 14″ OLED screen that Samsung was showing off at CES 2010 a few weeks ago.. well it may very soon be in the shops (sometime within the next 12 months through another piece of hardware)

Samsung is starting its big push toward translucency with a new little piece of hardware named the IceTouch PMP, which has a gorgeous 2-inch display, which is currently at the Samsung Development labs getting ready to go from a concept to an actual product. The IceTouch is rumoured to make a US arrival early in the first half of this year, priced at around $332. European availability is as yet unconfirmed, however Samsung are being very ambitious this exciting piece of hardware, suggesting that windscreen-mounted SatNav units could be next on the agenda and ruling nothing out as it strives to bring its transparent AMOLED displays into the mainstream.

If this actually comes out on the market, I can see a lot of clumsy people breaking this particular laptop.

It looks really awesome, but I just can't imagine a use for it. I would be really bad under low light conditions, or when there's a bright light source at the back of the screen.
