Saving Money?

It has been reported a lot lately that if you don't need to leave on your computer, then you should turn it off at night or whenever you're not using it. By doing so you will help save the planet and save money at same time, but is this really true?

Well yes, that is true, but there are a couple of points that they leave out, like it takes more energy on a year by year basis to power up your computer everyday instead of leaving it on over night in hibernation mode. Computers and accessories are now being built with green in mind and saving you money without you realising it by cutting down on watt usage.

Screensavers: Yes, they are nice to look at, but having a 3D screensaver running on your machine overnight is actually costing you money.

All in all I would say you need to do some trials in your home and test over a couple of months period and you will then ultimately know what saves you money and what doesn't.
