Review: Flip UltraHD

Recently, I purchased the Flip UltraHD from Amazon UK for £129.99. I have been very pleased with the quality of the Camcorder, It records 2 Hours of 720p HD Footage. The camcorder feels very sturdy to hold but yet is very lightweight, It is easy to operate [Does not give options like Brightness & Contrast, While Balance etc.] but at the same time, these options can be tweaked in iMovie, Final Cut or other Movie editing Software. The camcorder is very portable, it fits in your pocket and can be carried anywhere and everywhere! The cosmetic design of the Camcorder is very nice [I like the Matte finish on the front and back] although one slight problem is the glossy sides which are a finger magnet (This probably isn’t  a problem, but if you like to keep your gadgets like me, you’ll need to clean it once in a while) It also has HDMI out which allows you to output to an HD TV.

The Camcorder although great has some bad points, Some of which are: It doesn’t handle low lighting [Not many Pocket sized camcorders do] It also is near pathetic at Macro, It just can’t handle it.. One thing that isn’t a problem for me but may be for you is there is no Flip out screen so you can see yourself if you’re filming yourself. And last, It doesn’t have any optical zoom, and only 2x Digital..

Overall I would recommend this Camcorder to anyone who needs/wants a Cheap, Pocket sized Camcorder on the go and needs quick recording but isn’t worried about advanced options like White balance, Contrast & Brightness etc. If you have any questions about the camcorder remember to leave them on the Youtube video!
