iPad hacked prior to launch?

iPhone famed George Hotz aka Geohot claims to have a method that is capable of Jailbreaking the iPad, prior to its release in the US on the 3rd of April.

Geohot is best known for hacking the Apple iPhone, allowing users to unlock their iPhone to any network, allowing the installation of unauthorised third party apps and developing the best one-click Jailbreak software solution known as blackra1n which is capable of unlocking and jailbreaking devices in a matter of seconds. Geohot states that blackra1n “will probably work on iPad too”.

Geohot also developed a method to hack the PlayStation 3 in a matter of weeks which allowed unsigned applications to be run on the hardware with a small hardware modification, however the method does not allow pirated PS3 games to be played.

Is the cat and mouse game between Apple and hackers going to continue with the iPad?
