Reverse Lens Macro
Hey guys, so I haven't posted anything photography related in a little while here so I thought I would share with you some of the recent stuff I've been working on.
One of the biggest thing I've been fooling around with is something called 'Reverse lens macro.'
Reverse lens macro is a technique I learned about a year ago. I actually built my own small adapter out of a spare body cap, and a cheap protection filter. Basically what it allows me to do it mount the lens onto the body of my camera backwards, which in turn reverses the concave glass pieces inside the lens and this results in a much greater magnification. The only downside to this technique is that it is 100% everything manual. The zoom is manual, the focusing is done manually and achieved by moving the lens closer or farther from the subject, and the aperture is set to F0. However, once you are able to get all of these under control, you can produce some really beautiful macro shots, without spending $700.00 or more on a macro lens!
Here are two of my latest pieces of work, both done using the reverse lens technique.
