iPhone 4G or what is to be the 4th generation

I have a lot of information to get across here so if you wish to read and watch the video bellow feel free to, but if you're in a rush, I recommend you watch the video. It shows pictures and I give my opinion on all the new and changed features to this prototype of the iPhone 4th generation.

What's new

There is now a "front-facing video chat camera." What this actually means is, if you guys haven't guessed is that there is going to be the ability to have a video conference with other iPhone 4G users and other compatible gadgets. I can see this strongly backing up the rumors about iChat coming to the iPhone and iPad. Maybe even Skype will have this new feature included? Who's to know.

Along with the new front-facing video chat camera there has been an improvement to the regular back camera. From the photos I have seen and the ones I include in the video below we see how the outside has widened. We are hoping that this will lead to improved picture quality. We also hope that they will be upgrading the camera to 8mega pixels. Along with the widened camera lens we now see a small LED Flash. You Guys know why that's there.

Moving onto the actual phone features there is now a Micro-SIM Slot instead of the Standard worldwide know SIM size. We know that the Micro-SIM is going to be used in the iPad 3G version so this is a strong back up and crosses out this being a prototype for 2011+. From what we know the screen resolution has been bumpt up as expected but we are still un aware of the actual ratio. I can confirm that it is not OLED which is a shame, but i guess they can't pop them in yet.

Now people have been saying that there is a secondary mic for noise cancellation at the top beside the headphone jack, but what it is now to be believed to be is a small pin whole to remove the new battery that is 16% larger, adding only an extra three grams to the overall weight.

There are also now split buttons for volume, but like the secondary mic, these could be used for camera functions like other phones. All the outer buttons are now metallic and there is an aluminum boarder around the phone.

What's changed

As we have seen with the last to versions of the iPhone the back has been curved. Now it is entirely flat. It is not made of glass or aluminum as many of us have hoped for, but plastic. The main reasons are because of the iPad having poor Wi-Fi connectivity they have decided to put a plastic back on it. From what we know it is now a slide to remove so you still have to go to the apple store if you want to change your battery or follow instructions on how to get the back off.

Instead of having the chrome border around it now they have an aluminum one going around it, which keeps with the new iPad and iMacs. I must say from seeing the pictures, it does look quite beautiful. There is also a slightly smaller screen than the 3GS, but with a higher resolution I would defiantly go for the smaller screen.

Looking inside the iPhone, all the components are smaller and miniaturized to make room for this larger battery, which is welcome with a big hug. The new multitasking feature is sure going to drain our battery, but with this 16% larger battery there is no worry.
