New Apple Releases And Updates

Recently Apple have announced the new updated Macs, which include the iMac and the Mac Pro; also the release of the new Apple Magic Trackpad, which I will come onto later.

Firstly the Mac Pro. Now we all thought this Mac was fast and powerful, but with this new update its going to be even faster with the option of 4, 6, 8 and 12 cores of processing power. This will boost the performance by 1.5. There is also going to be an upgrade with the graphics card, the standard card it comes with is a ATI Radeon HD 5770 but you can upgrade to a ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory. This will make the Mac Pro a brilliant computer with the power that will probably last for a couple of years to come. The price is apparently going to be around $5000. This is pretty pricey but considered the power and performance, its going to be one hell of a computer.

Secondly the iMac, now this is getting upgrading to the i3 and i5 processors, the standard iMac is going to be upgraded with a ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256M. The display is going to have 1920-by-1080 resolution and a 4GB memory and a 500GB hard drive. The standard 27 inch iMac is going to come with a 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 processor , a 2560-by-1440 resolution, a 4GB memory and a 1TB hard drive. It then comes with a ATI Radeon HD 5670 with 512MB. Finally the top of the range 27 inch iMac comes out with a 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 2560-by-1440 resolution, 4GB memory and a 1TB hard drive and a ATI Radeon HD 5750 with 1GB. All of these iMac`s come with a 8x double-layer SuperDrive. The iMac`s are getting very better now with the performance and graphics they have, the actual iMac itself hasn't changed its look but I think that is okay as the iMac looks lovely. The prices are starting at £999 to £1649 (sorry I haven't got the US conversion).

At last the Magic Trackpad now this is basically the trackpad you find with the MacBook's and all Apple laptops. This is going to be wireless so it fits in well with your desktop or even the laptop if you fancy. Personally myself I don't see the point of it as it has the same specs as the Magic Mouse with two finger scrolling and other hand gestures. My opinion might change on the happening when I get my hands on it, but I don't think it will be a must have, but a nice gadget if your not that fussed on using mice.
