Halo: Reach Leaked Already

A month before the official release of the next instalment in the Halo series, Halo: Reach, and it has already made its way on various file sharing sites. The supposed “review copy” of the game was found on Xbox.com, and was only there to provide the code for the full game to reviewers only. Browsing various P2P sites, you’ll easily be able to find a copy of the game available to download.

Previously, Halo: Reach appeared to be available to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace for a costly 99999 MS Points (£856.66). The hackers seemed to have bypassed the purchase screen and then able to download the code leading to them then removing the restrictions limiting who can play.

One uploader of the game said the following:
“Game extracted from the leaked .xcp files then converted from god file to iso. Not sure if it will work on flashed consoles but its an iso so it should..confirmed to work on jtags too.

A Microsoft Spokesperson told IGN earlier today that:

“We are aware of claims being made regarding a security exploit related to Halo: Reach and are aggressively investigating the matter,”

It seems a repeat of what happened previously in the Halo series is happening. Back in 2004, Halo 2 was famously leaked a whole month before it’s official release date.
