Medal of Honor to Be Banned?

The British Defense Secretary, Liam Fox, is urging retailers to not stock EA’s anticipated First Person Shooter Medal Of Honor. The game is too be released later this year, October 12 on all the major platforms (PS3, Xbox 360 & PC).

The Defense Secretary isn't happy and is wanting the game to be banned due to it letting players to take control of Taliban forces in the online multiplayer part of the game. News of the plans to let players take the role of the Taliban hit the British Government earlier today and they are "disgusted" and asking British retailers to remove the video game from their shelves.

When you take control of the Taliban you're required to kill as many Allied soliders as possible, gaining more points for each soldier they kill. Fox commented on the game saying; When you take control of the Taliban you're required to kill as many Allied soliders as possible, gaining more points for each soldier they kill. Fox commented on the game saying;"It's shocking someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban. At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands,"The video below shows what Fox isn't happy about. Medal Of Honor gives players the choice to play as the Taliban, they're then required to kill NATO Troops, our allies.

EA have decided to defend their choice of putting a playable Taliban force in the game, claiming that they have tried to Medal Of Honor as realistic as possible. EA have compared Medal Of Honor to a game of Cops and Robbers that's played in the park between friends, somebody has to play the bad guy. In Medal Of Honor, somebody has to play the bad guys, the Taliban.

"It reflects the fact every conflict has two sides. The game is set in today's war, putting players in the boots of today's soldier. We give gamers the opportunity to play both sides. Most of us have been doing this since we were seven."
