Happy 27th Birthday, Mac!

I'm not surprised that I am the first person to have posted this, because most people don't know about it. But 27 years ago today, that's January 24th 1984, the first ever Mac, The Macintosh 28K was announced by Steve Jobs.

Apple fans will celebrate the 27th year that that the Macintosh platform has been available today. Funnily enough, Steve Jobs, current CEO of Apple (who is right now on a medical leave of absence) still delivered keynotes back then! Of course there is much more history to it than that; obviously he was fired and then brought back, but we won't get into that.

The main point is to remember to put balloons and banners around your brushed aluminium display while saluting to the hi-res screensaver, 'Flurry.'

"Today, one year after Lisa, we are introducing the third industry milestone product, Macintosh."

- Steve Jobs, Jan 24th 1984

Say "happy anniversary" to your Mac for me. I know I have.

Was there a Lisa team and a Mac team. And the one that was better was the Mac because of its UI and faster specs? or something like that?
And wasn't the mac realeased just before Steve got fired?

I believe the Lisa team was separate to the Mac team. Both the Mac and Lisa had a GUI and mouse, but the Macintosh was just a stable computer that Apple could adapt and work on, unlike the Lisa which was almost like an experimental product.

In 1984, the same year as the release date of the original Mac, Jobs was fired.
