The Mac App Store is here!

The long awaited Mac App Store has finally been released, today, on January 6th 2011. It is available for freethrough Software Update. The Mac App Store is Apple's Mac equivalent to the iPhone App Store essentially allowing you to browse, select, buy then download Mac applications that almost instantly pop on your Mac's dock, ready to use. 

Apps are sorted exactly as you'd expect, just like in iTunes, with categories such as: Top Rated, Top Grossing, What's Hot etc. I very much like the UI, as it's easy to use, fast, and most of all, fun. 

The MAS, as I like to call it is bursting at the seems with content already, and it only JUST came out, meaning in the future, we can expect to see the Mac App Store just as diverse and large as it's iPhone counterpart.

Having downloaded a couple of apps likes the brand new Twitter for Mac, I must admit, the app works very nicely, particularly thanks to it's awesome speed.
