Redbox Upping Price to $1.20

Redbox has decided to raise prices of their popular movie rental kiosk. Redbox has been very successful, even during a rough economy. With Netflix raising their prices this past year, it was a matter of time for Redbox to follow suite.

Starting October 31, Redbox will be raising their price to $1.20 from $1. Good thing is, they seem to have learned from the mistakes of their competitor, Netflix, who later apologised to its subscribers for the way that they had changed their monthly plans for its users. Netflix has lost over 800,000 subscribers due to the price increase.

Redbox had announced that the price increase was "best to offset expences," due to the rising debit card fees being charged by banks. The decision was accepted after “several months of testing and with careful consideration."
The price for Blue-ray and video game rentals will not change for the original $1.50 and $2 per day.

Will the $0.20 increase make you think differently?
