Apple Releases New MacBook Pro Family
It's official. The new MacBook Pros are here and they're better than ever. Apple announced the new machines today during a press conference. The MacBook Pros feature many new features, but no chasse design changes.
MacBook Pro 13"
Finally! The Intel Core Two Duo processor is gone! The 13" MacBook Pro now features a 2.3 or 2.7 GHz Intel i5 processor, or an optional i7 like it's two big brothers. Also, this machine has been stripped of the NVidea graphics card and has been replaced by the Intel Graphics 3000.
Some big new additions port-wise with this model and all MacBook Pros is the replacement of the Mini Display port for the Thunderbolt port. Thunderbolt supports Mini Display, but it also can support many HD devices. Apple has also added an SD Card slot. Lastly, the iSight camera is now High Definition, complementing the new 1280x800 display.
The 13" ports
MacBook Pro 15" and 17"
Not much changed with these devices other than the additions of the Thunderbolt ports, higher resolution, new graphics cards (ATI) and 2.0 or 2.2 (2.0 only being an option for the 15") GHz configurations with the previous Core i5 and i7.
