MacBook Pros to get Pre-Holiday Speed Bump?

It looks like the MacBook Pro line could be next for a hardware upgrade, according to a new report.

According to some sources, the MacBook Pro line will introduce new models of its Pro portables with speedier Intel processors.  They claim to be ready in time for shipping for the Holiday Shopping Season.  Another source says that it’s possible to be ready for shipment sometime this month.  I suppose only time will tell the true facts.

Just how big of a speed increase are we talking about?  AppleInsider points to Intel’s latest crop of quad-core Core i7 chips.  The current i7 chip has a normal speed of 2.7GHz and the new boost may be a 2.8GHz in terms of speed.  Because this isn’t a huge bump in speed, would we be able to clearly see the difference?  That’s my main question.

Since the MacBook Pro line was only updated in February, do you honestly see a small update for the coming Holidays?  Personally, I don’t see that to be plausible.  Apple is very behind on being faithful to the yearly release of the iPhone.  I would expect to see a new iPhone before we see a new release in the MacBook Pro line.  That’s just my personally opinion.

Do you think we will see this update for the coming Holidays?  If we do, will we be able to see a clear speed difference?  Leave a comment on your thoughts.

Welcome to upgrade 1.2.3. With the small upgrade rate in many parts of the apple product line rising, approximately twice as much as were used to couple of years ago, buying the latest and supposedly greatest hardware is soon to become a rather redundant undertaking.

Also, the unaffordability of apple brand laptops is of particular concern to critics such as mine. Only the wealthiest and highest dedicated savers / housekeepers of our tech community manage to keep up with apple's upgrading pace.

Why am I shouting this from the rooftops of my sanity and reason you may be thinking? Well, for people hinging on pro audio / video software, plugins get also updated along with the hardware too. Meaning technology will force me up to a certain point to boost not only my software, but my hardware as well.

Aside from this little venture to the depths of what is left of my own wicked mind, they should do upgrades as long as it provides the user with a significant advantage over the previous generation.

With waves having updated their resource intensive plugins to an obvious new lion standard, I've just found myself unable to open up two of my recent mixes I did before the whole updating misery.

Don't get me wrong, I favor and prefer apple over any other computer brand in a mixing studio environment but lately, they've been crossing the borders with their pushback scheme of releasing new hardware.

I hope will not see any upgrade for this year.

haha dude before you post something, you need to get your facts straight. First off, The 2.7Ghz intel processor little comment question thing you were talking about is stupid. The article says that the 13" inch macbook pro could receive a new 2.8Ghz processor and replace the outgoing 2.7Ghz processor which means that it would have a faster overclock speed of 3.5ghz instead of 3.2ghz. The new i7's are also faster and give the macbook pro 13 inch better battery life.

Instead of sitting there acting like you know everything, check your grammar and spelling. Another thing, I pretty much rewrote an article and changed some words around so it's more my work then anyone else's work so I don't get hit with copyright infringement. Maybe I made an error but just to let you know, I reread the article I got my information from and read mine and the numbers match up. So, before you go ahead and type a comment on someones article thinking you know everything, make sure YOU have your "facts straight."

Happy Regards,
Steven :)
