My iPad 3 Predictions

With the next generation iPad announcement just under a week away, I felt it was appropriate to share my predictions. With the latest generation, we saw a pretty decent improvement but I would like to see some more change. The iPad has been a revolutionary change to the tech industry, just like the rest of Apple’s products. If it wasn’t for the iPad, many companies wouldn’t be in busy with their tablets. Apple seems to hold the largest competition of tech gadgets.

Apple is known for making top of the line gadgets so I don’t see the next generation iPad being a bust. Here are some of the key features I wish to see on the next generation iPad:

Retina Display

According to many reports, this has already been confirmed with a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536. This is something we have been waiting for and I believe this is something that’s plausible for this upcoming generation.

Better Cameras

For price of the iPad, I really want to see some amazing photo and video quality. I think the next generation iPad should at least have the same 8MP rear camera that the iPhone 4S has. The fact that a cheaper device, such as the iPhone, has a better camera then an expensive tablet makes me wonder. Apple, please include better cameras!

Faster Processor

To have a Retina Display (HD) and better quality cameras, we would need to see a processor that could handle all of the intense graphics. Since we have been seeing a sequential order of the processor numbers, it would be very likely to see an A6 Chip as the new processor. However, we have seen some leaked photos that have an A5x Chip as the processor. We will have to wait and see what Apple has up their sleeve.

Siri

Siri has been a huge hit with the iPhone 4S and I wouldn’t see them not incorporating it into the iPad. Siri has become an Apple trademark!

Two things that have been floating around is the possible name and if Apple will create two versions of the iPad. Wait, what? Yes, a possible rumor is that Apple may call this next generation the iPad HD. I have a huge feeling that Apple will stick to their typical name of the iPad 3. It just seems to flow better and seems more Apple.

When I say that Apple might create two versions, I mean two iPads with a different screen real estate. There have been multiple rumors for the past 6 months that the next generation iPad will feature the typical 9.7” screen and a more affordable 7” screen. Personally, I don’t believe this to be true.

What do you want to see in the next generation iPad?
