Google Nexus 7: The Little Tablet That Could

Google has recently announced their new entry-level tablet, Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 was constructed by Asus but uses Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The OS doesn't have any overlay on it. So what you are seeing is pure Android Jelly Bean 4.1.

As you can probably tell by the name, the Nexus 7 features a 7" display, with a resolution of 1280x800, (216 PPI). It also features a 1.2 Megapixel front facing camera and on-screen soft buttons to access menu, back, and multi-tasking. The tablet weighs an impressive 340g. It also supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n as well as support for Bluetooth. Nexus 7 requires Micro USB to charge and sync. There is also NFC found on the Nexus 7, not to mention the obvious Microphone, Accelerometer, GPS, Magnetometer and Gyroscope.

The Nexus 7 comes packed with a quad core Tegra 3 processor for a super fast experience when using the tablet. It also has 1GB of RAM, a 4325 mAh Battery (Up to 8 hours of active use), and capacity sizes ranging from 8GB to 16GB, depending on what model you choose.

I am sure that you could all agree that the tablet packs some great features, blowing the Kindle Fire and Barnes and Nobles Nook Tablet out of the water. It is a no brainer.

You can pre-order the Google Nexus 7 from the Google Play Store for a very reasonable £159 for the 8GB model. However, you also have the option to purchase a 16GB Google Nexus 7 for £199.

So, what do you think of the Google Nexus 7? Do you see yourself purchasing one? Is there anything specific you wanted to see on the Nexus 7? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section.
