Ge.tt Review: File Sharing Made Easy!
File sharing is a big business, with many companies popping up with their own solutions for sending along both large and small files across the web. Torrent sharing, attachments, in-site uploads and direct app sharing are all very popular options with their own devotees. But there is another subset that is often ignored: those that don't want to download anything just to upload files.
Ge.tt was created with those people in mind, taking away the need to download resource heavy programs or pay monthly fees to sharing websites. All without making people who distrust torrent sharing nervous.
How It Works
Ge.tt is a super simple in-browser app that lets you drag and drop files you want to upload into your browser window. Then it uploads the file and lets you share it automatically peer-to-peer, or send it along via an email. Since the email comes from the site itself, it won't take up space in your real email inbox.
The program is very similar to software like Dropbox. The minute you upload the file, it is made visible and available to the person you are sharing it with. But unlike Dropbox, no download is required to use it, and nothing runs in the background of your desktop.
What Users Are Saying
Response has been very positive from users of the service. It is fast, functional, very easy to use and doesn't use up any more resources than your Internet browser. You account is free, and there is 2GB of storage included. Which isn't much, but usually enough for just sharing files.
Ge.tt does exactly what it promises, and it does it well.
