Gog Game Website

Gog is a video game retailer website that sells classic pc games for an affordable price. Although they do sell classic games there is something unique about this website and that is when they give games away for free. Sometimes the games they give away are simple RPG’s (Role Playing Games) from around the past era much like Ultima VI or Dragonsphere. But sometimes, once in a blue moon you can get the old Fallout series for free. That’s right, a couple of weeks prior to this recording they had the classic Fallout series going for free. The reason it was being given away for free was because of the expiration of Interplay’s rights to the fallout series. Sometimes expiration can be a good thing.

How these games work are actually quite interesting. No, I am not talking about the programming or the engines that run the game. I am talking about the installers and how they work. Believe it or not playing classic games from the actual media, such as Floppy disks, or cd’s can be quite difficult to do. For example, I have an ultimate doom collection for the PC I cannot use unless I use a program called DOSBox, and strangely enough gog had a solution that actually worked. They made it to where when you buy the game; you don’t just buy a game, but an emulator which runs the game on newer copies of Windows. So this insures that the game can run for you.

So if you’re a gamer and you’re looking for a way to buy some classic games or some new games without spending an outrageous amount of money, then I would check out gog’s website. They have a wide selection of games to choose from, and an easy to use navigation system to browse around the website. So spread some holiday joy next season or buy that special someone something special with gog’s services.

I hope you guys had an excellent holiday, and I hope you guys have a happy new year’s.
