How to Take Better Photos with Your Smartphone

We are living in years of mobile devices, which includes phones with camera, GPS, internet etc. But let's focus on camera for smartphones. We all know that some photos taken with a cellphone may look horrible. Nowadays, social networks like Instagram show this fact more often. I will not talk about Flickr, the social network for professional photographers and beginners. I will talk about the average user.

To take a good photo you need a smartphone with a high quality camera. I recommend minimum of 5 Megapixels. To take an amazing photo at the right moment, You need to pay attention for some tips:
  • Do not use digital zoom often
Photos with digital zoom look terrible. If You want to take a photo of an object, the best way is get closer to this object. Forget zooming.
  • Find the light!
One of the most important secrets of photography is the light. If you want to focus on a object or a person, you should pay attention to the light. Do not put yourself in front of a light source, like a window. This source should be behind you, this way your photo will look better.
  • Be calm
Try to enjoy the moment, doing this, your photos will probably look better.
  • Avoid front facing camera
Most of the smartphones come with a camera in front of the device, but these cameras are in the majority, awful.
  • Focus, focus, focus
Look carefully to your display. Try to get the best angle and focus on you picture. In the later models of phones, the auto focus is present. It will help you in some situations.
  • Flash
Turn flash off. Use it only in special occasions, when you really need.
  • Don't be afraid of trying
It's very common to commit some mistakes. But technology allows you to take a second chance. Use it in your favor.

Some image editors can help you with landscape photos. Using the HDR option, the image looks very nice.
If you like to take photos and post on Instagram, try to use the native camera app and import to the social network. Sometimes Instragram compress your image.
