Jailbreak Released for iOS6

Back a few years ago, there were a lot of people involved in the jailbreak scene but unfortunately things have kind of slowed down over the past couple of months. However, the good news is that a new jailbreak has just been released which is called Evasi0n. If you’ve been waiting for an untethered jailbreak (doesn’t require you to keep jailbreaking your device every time you turn it off etc.) for iOS6 or even iOS6.1 then you’ll be glad to hear about this new jailbreak.

One of the Quickest Jailbreaks Ever

It’s quite amazing when you think about it really, since iOS6.1 was only released a couple of days before this came out! As well as this, it’ll work on all devices such as the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad (including the iPad mini). No matter whether you’re running on Windows, Mac OS X or even Linux you’ll be able to jailbreak your device within just 5 minutes, it’s really that simple.

One important thing to note about this jailbreak is that you need to be on at least iOS6 for it to work, so this means that if you’re on iOS5 or any older software you’ll need to upgrade first. It’s also extremely important to back up all your files such as your pictures, apps and so on just in case anything goes wrong during the process, although it looks like most people haven’t had any issues at all with the Evasi0n jailbreak. As the team said that are behind this jailbreak, “If something breaks, you’ll always be able to recover your data”.

However, there is one small issue that you should be aware of before you start downloading the 10MB file from Evasi0n. If you have a passcode on your device it’s recommended that you disable this before you attempt to jailbreak since “it can cause issues”.

There has been a lot of media coverage recently in the US about jailbreaking, but at the moment it’s still 100% legal. By jailbreaking your Apple device you will void your warranty though, so if your device is still in warranty then you need to be aware that your device won’t be covered after you’ve jailbroken it.

Overall, if you want to customize your Apple device then it mightn’t be a bad idea to test this new jailbreak out, especially since it literally only takes a couple of minutes from start to finish.
