Apps Bar - Active App Tracker Review

I have so many apps on my Mac that it is ridiculous. I only use about a quarter of them at any given time, but I still like keeping it all there, just in case. The problem is that it makes it a little confusing when I want to reopen one quickly. I hate sorting through the chaos to find what I want, and a lot of app icons look the same.

AppsBar made it a lot easier for me. It basically creates a simple taskbar that keeps track of all recently opened apps. That way, you can just refer back to it to get anything running you have used in the recent past. There isn't anything else to it; it does exactly what it claims, and it does so cleanly and efficiently.

What I like so much about it is that the taskbar is hidden until you pull it down. So it doesn't clutter up the main screen or interrupt the background. Plus, this is a paid app. So there are so ads or anything to deal with, making it worth the $1.99 you pay for it. I would much rather drop a little cash for a high quality app I am going to use all the time, then use some of the free alternatives that are going to force ads onto my desktop to compensate.

Conclusion

If you want a simple app to keep track of recently opened apps, this is the one for you. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't track any apps that don't have a desktop icon. But that isn't a deal breaker, and all in all, I would highly recommend AppsBar.
