RunKeeper for iPhone: Free Fitness App Review

RunKeeper

We all want to be healthy, and we all know how to achieve that: proper diet and regular physical activity. But we don't all like hitting the gym, which can be boring and even uncomfortable. As a woman, I feel especially self conscious at my local gym that is dominated by weight lifting males. Instead, I choose outdoor activities like running, hiking and biking.

I was originally using an overall health tracker for this, but found that it wasn't quite right for me. Then I found RunKeeper.

How It Works

How RunKeeper App Works

Using your GPS, track runs, walks, hikes, bike rides and more. Get notifications every time you reach a new personal milestone, and set goals that it will help you reach. Set detailed plans to keep you on track and help you set that new goal, and track routes that you can save to use later.

All achievements and progress can be posted on Facebook and Twitter, or just with friends you have made through the app.

To sync your app with other programs for greater health monitoring, integrate it with Fitbit, Zeo, Garmin and many other websites and devices. If you want even more features you can buy a monthly or yearly plan starting at just $4.99 per month. The basic app is free, so try it today!
