[Review] Case-Mate Barely There for Sony Xperia Z
I have always been a good supporter of the Case-Mate line-up, and to see they had released a case for the Sony Xperia Z excited me deep down. I must thank Case-Mate for sending this product out for review.
Upon opening the box, you are instantly greeted with the case. There isn't anything else in the box, however I did find the metal top to the box a nice touch, adds some strength to the packaging. Fitting the case to my phone was simple, snapping the case around the longer sides of the phone, and the case has a firm but sleek look when on the phone.
Cut outs are well placed with plenty of room around the holes for the camera/flash & secondary mic, the left-side flap for the microUSB, and the right side for the Power button, volume rocker, loudspeaker & lanyard hook.
In general use the case offers a nice amount of bulk to the already thin phone, making it a lot easier to hold and carry about. The only gripe I had with the case was the way the Case-Mate logo is on the side. I find this to be kind of annoying when I am holding the phone in a certain way as it feels somewhat rough to the touch. I would of prefered the logo to be on the back alongwith their CM logo.
Overall, the case is very nice and stylish for what it is. Price wise it works out at around £18.00GBP for the case in the UK. I find the price to be quite reasonable compared to other manufacturers.
I would give the Case-Mate Barely There a 8/10. With the slight issues I have with the case, I really can't argue as it adds to the phone in a subtle way which would suit a lot of people.
