Here are a few things you can check to find the cause of the problem. First, are the computer cables attached tightly? Sometimes the cords will be loose and the computer will shut down. If the cords are attached properly, you should try checking the fan. Is it dusty and covered with grime? If so, the spontaneous restarting could be caused by your computer overheating.
If the fan is working and clean, check your power supply. In older computers and laptops, the power supply box on the cord could by dying. In this case, you should go buy a new power cord. After trying these suggestions, your computer should be back in working order.
