Chrome Apps Episode 6: Flow Colors (Video)

Have you ever had one of those days where you just feel down in the dumps? Last week there were a lot of things going on through my head and I needed something to do to take my mind off of things. I remember reading an article saying that people should play a game of Tetris to forget some kind of trauma that they may be experiencing. The reason to this is because if you play a game of Tetris it makes you focus on the organization portion of your brain making you think more quickly on getting the pieces in the right order rather than whatever event you may be having problems with. I took that advice into mind and started to browse the Google Chrome App Store. I went straight for the games and found one right on top of the list called “Flow colors”. At first I thought the game looked familiar but then I remembered it was a game one of my friends showed me on their Ipad. So I already knew how fun this game was...

When I started to play the game, it seemed to be really easy compared to the first time I played it. All you have to do is match the color of the shapes to the other shapes. It’s something so simple you can let your kids play it. After a big I started to get the hang of things and started to fly through the game with no problems. Until I found out you have to fill each and every square to get a hundred percent completion of the level. There is nothing stopping you from continuing the game, however with me and my OCD I started to think more critically as the stages got harder and harder. After a while I started to forget all about my problem because I was more focused on the game itself. However I got so involved with the game that I also lost track of two hours of time. So the game was effective on its mission.

The graphics doesn’t always make the game. Because no joke, in this game they are almost nonexistent. All you have is squares, circles, your mouse cursor, and some colors. That’s it. So there is nothing to talk about there. Also there is no music in this game, but only sound effects of the connection between lines. I am not complaining about this, because this allows me to listen to something relaxing while I play. So the question remains, is the game fun? Depending on what you find fun, for me I say yes. But for some others this game may not be for you. It’s such a simplistic idea and something to friendly that children can play. So it’s the family fun kind of fun more than the point and click adventure of RPG’s or shooters. So give this game a try if you’re interested. It’s free to play and easy to find. Thanks for reading and watching chrome apps.
