How To Access Your Remote QuickBooks Cloud Server From Your Computer?

It is not surprising to know that even in this internet-dominated age, some individuals are not so comfortable with the use of internet based cloud. Remote access and functionality of the server seem complex to such users but the truth lays in the fact that access to the remote server and working in this environment might actually be simpler than otherwise considered. To demystify the doubts about the complexity of RDC, you can watch the steps below:

Step 1: Click on the ‘Start’ button and type ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ in the Search Box.

Step 2: Click on ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ and you will be prompted to a new window. This window will ask for the details of the remote computer or server that you are trying to access. When you get into a contract with your QuickBooks hosting provider, you will be provided with the name of your dedicated server that has been structured securely on the provider’s cloud environment.

Step 3: On entering the name of the server, you may have to wait for some time. This time is taken for initiating the remote connection. It is only this initial connection that depends on your internet speed. Once you log on to the server, the functionality and speed is impressively fast.

Step 4: The biggest advantage of using QuickBooks hosting is its ability to host files in a multi-user mode. Thus, one server can be structured to accommodate a number of different user accounts with varying credentials and permissions. While the administrator can hold complete control of all the drives and data on this remote server, the employee structure can be built according to needs. To access the server, the user has to enter the password provided to him.

Step 5: After entering the user credentials, you might have to wait for some time till the connection to the remote server is secured.

Step 6: When securing the connection, you might be prompted with a security certificate. Click ‘Yes’ to continue with the login. This mainly occurs because of Network Level Authentication (NLA) which ensures the network level security while establishing connection through RDC.

Step 7: After Installing, securing and configuring connection with the remote computer, a new screen will open on your computer. This is the desktop of your remote computer. Generally, the Windows platform is provided for usage as it is considered quite secure and easy-to-use in the cloud environment. You can explore all the options within the drives. Most of the applications will hold the icons on the desktop and they can be accessed from there.

Step 8: After working on this Remote Desktop, always remember to close the session by clicking the ‘X’ appearing on a tab at the upper center of your screen. This will securely log you out and will keep your server secure from any internet vulnerabilities.

With the above mentioned steps, accountants can easily access the remote system and continue with their secure operations anytime and from any place.
