Twicker. The perfect companion for Twitter.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a timeline of some sort for Twitter? Well now you can. Chris Pirillo introduced his uStream audience to a new and free app exclusively for Mac OS X called Twicker. Twicker was designed by Serban Ioan Dragos. You type a keyword into the app, which pulls up the twitter icon of the person that said that keyword.

For example, if you were to type in "Macintosh" in the Query box, it would display everyone on Twitter who mentions the word Macintosh in their tweets. That pretty cool, but to make it more useful, you can type @YOURUSERNAME to display anyone who replies to you; mine is set to display anyone who writes @DannyMinick216 in their tweet.

Download it for free here. Follow me on Twitter.

1Password Overview/Review

The video above is an overview video I made of 1Password.

Here is my written review:

1Password is a very good app. It does what it is supposed to do and its just absolutely stunning. What this application basically does, is it stores all your passwords and username in a database. Then when your on the website, it recognizes the website, and you can auto-fill it. Its perfect if you forget your passwords a lot of times or your just lazy to type everything in like me.

It is just a great app you can use all the time. It has a plugin for Safari, where you can select the login and it would automatically fill in the blanks for you. So, if you go to a scam website, it would not let you fill in the information because it automatically detects that its a fake website, so its VERY VERY useful.

On 1Password you can put secret secure notes and lock the whole application. When you install it, you can create a master password, so no one can check all your information. You can also sync all the information into your iPhone, so you can add information right from your iPhone. This feature also works with the Palms if you have one. This is just a great app for securing all your information that you use on the web.

Hope this post helped you understand what 1Password basically does.

Thanks

-Tim

ThinkGeek Haiku Contest

ThinkGeek.com, a merchandise heaven for geeks like me, has initiated a haiku contest. If you don't know what a haiku is, it is a kind of poem composed of only 17 syllables. If you are the lucky one who wins this contest than you win a $50 gift certificate to ThinkGeek. Your haiku however must be geeky or technologically related, which seems appropriate for this website. I myself entered this contest and I can only hope that I win. So if you decide to enter the contest, Good Luck!

Here is the contest page link

Killzone 2 Rating

Hey fellow gamers! Daniel here with a real quick update.

So today, I woke up for basketball practice at 7:30am. When I came home at 9:00am, I hopped right on youtube. First thing I see is my friend Javan posting a video saying that this was going to be his last video because killzone 2 got a 6.4 rating on IGN. Another reason was because he said that God of War 3 wasn't coming out until 2010. Well, at the end of the video, he said it was a joke. Killzone 2, ladies and gentlemen, received a sweet 9.4/10 from IGN. I will post a link of it at the bottom of the IGN rating. I will also be posting a link at the bottom of my friend Javan's youtube channel.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. God of War 3 is coming out in 2009. That was a joke also.

Twitter: The new MySpace?

Warning! Non-UK Readers might not understand!

Have any of you ever come across the phenomenon, “Twitter”?

Well, those of you who haven’t, or have but don’t understand what it’s all about, allow me to explain.

Twitter is a Micro-Blogging platform. Kinda like FaceBook’s status feature, except you’re limited to just 140 characters. Why is it so addictive? Easy! If you’ve never experienced online communication to the full potential (and trust me, you haven’t until you’ve used Twitter) then you need to give it a go! Talking to tens, hundreds, THOUSANDS of people over the interwebs is incredibly addictive, and beneficial if you’re an internet-junkie such as myself. Just type what you’re up to, tell us if you’re brushing your teeth, tell us if you’re nipping down to Tesco, or if you need to post a picture of your dog pulling the funniest face! We all want to hear it!

So anyway, now you know what it is, you’ll understand why it’s so good, and to top it all off…have you ever wanted to follow your favourite celebrity around? Stalk them, if you will? Well, now you can!

This Morning, and Dancing On Ice’s Philip Schofield is registered on this global empire called “Twitter-land”, and he’s very much as addicted as myself. ITV have been so kind enough as to give Philip a laptop to sit on the coffee table as millions of people tune in each day to wake up to the sight of…a tweet from Philip from the studio! Be sure to follow @Schofe.

Another famous Englishman on the Twitter-Isles is Jonathan Ross. Do I need to say anything? This man is a total Twitter-Head! Tweets flying here and there, gathering just over 40,500 followers, he sure is a Twitter Celebrity. Ranked #33 in the whole world…that’s a major feat - and the number is still rising! Be sure to follow him on @Wossy.

I’ll mention one more - Duncan Bannatyne. We’re now moving out of the Den, and over to the Twitter-Sphere. Duncan tells us how money isn’t everything from the comfort of his own home. He takes hours out of his day to talk to everyone in the Twitter-Verse and have a genuine heart-to-heart with all of his followers. This man genuinely opens up on Twitter. Many a night I’ve sat here reading his Tweets and how he mentions he’d rather have happiness and health over money any day, and how money isn’t everything and how he’s going to leave a large portion of his money to Charities. Aww, good on ya’ Duncan! Follow one of the Dragon himself at @DuncanBannatyne.

So not only is Twitter becoming a global extravaganza in the Social-Networking world but also a portal for celebrities to reach out to their fans. I mean, C’mon…Philip Schofield is following me on Twitter. He obviously needs me!

On a more serious note, Twitter is growing. Fast. I can't help but wonder if it will soon (well, maybe sometimes in the future) take over MySpace... I'd love to read comments, etc.

You can, of course, follow me on Twitter on @LewisBeechey and feel free to send me an @reply or a dm. :)

Happy Tweeting!
