Sky's 3D TV channel launches in the UK

If you live in the UK you can now check out the new 3D TV channel if you are a Sky subscriber. It's the first in the UK and will offer 14 hours of 3D TV a day. There will be a range of programming from movies to football and it all kicks off with the Ryder Cup. To be able to receive the channel you will need a 3D TV and a Sky service with the Sky World HD package. For any Americans out there "Sky" is a satellite TV provider.

Is 3D going too far?

I was thinking the other day, is the whole 3D thing going too far? What got me started on this was browsing Engadget and seeing that Panasonic is going to be releasing a consumer 3D camera. In every preview at the movies I see “coming soon in 3D." To me it is actually getting annoying. To be honest, I don’t care to go see 3D movies. I saw Avatar in 2D, no big deal. The whole glasses thing to me is annoying, even if it's not a huge problem. Everything is 3D now: cameras, TVs, movies, video games, and even sports. Is it just me or is 3D going a little too far?
