Apple Store Down Ahead of WWDC 2012

Just hours before WWDC 2012, we can confirm that the online Apple Store has been taken down to update the products/software that will be announced this morning. Over 5,000 people are expected to turn up to the event today.

Retina Capable MacBook's, the fith generation iPhone, iOS 6 and Mac OS X Mountain Lion are all expected to be announced today. However, I don't think that all of the rumoured updates will actually be announced today. Do bare in mind that this is mainly a software keynote for developers. Journalists, Paparazzi and the public in general are also eligible to attend, though.

Just like last year, Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference will be held at Moscone West, Sans Francisco between June 11 and June 15.

Pixelmator For Mac Review

There are quite a few options anymore when it comes to choosing a graphics processor or design program. It's sometimes hard to determine which ones are worth the money and which aren't. I am happy to say that Pixelmator is a powerful application for the Macintosh that offers a variety of options similar to Photoshop, but has an additional feature that I wish Photoshop had, it has floating windows instead of a boxed-in feel.

iOS 6: What It Should Have

Apple's WWDC will be held in San Francisco from June 11 to June 15. In that period of time, computing giant Apple are rumored  to launch a whole variety of new products. Ranging from the Fith Generation iPhone (iPhone 5), all the way to new, Retina-capable Mac's. But, what the public are desperate to find out about is iOS 6. Apple's latest iteration to their mobile operating system. People would love to finally receive widgets on their iPhone/iPad, they would also love a completely redesigned user interface, plus much more. In this article, I am going to sum-up what iOS 6 should have.

#1: A completely redesigned user interface.

As shown from the picture above, rumors have been circulating the web about a new silver-colored UI. In my opinion, it looks sleek. I would love Apple to introduce this revamped UI. It just looks so much more "real".

#2: Widgets.

Even though it sounds convenient, I can't imagine using myself using Widgets on my iPhone/iPad. However, you might disagree with me. Widgets in iOS has been desired by the public for many years now. And, it has even made some iOS users make the switch to Android. In order for Apple to re-gain their customers, Widgets is a must.

#3: FaceTime over 4G.

If you don't already know, it is not possible to use FaceTime over 4G, as of now. If Apple were to introduce FaceTime 4G, it would be great for business men/business women. I have always imagined people being late for a meeting, and this one important person is late. And, all they have is their iPhone/iPad to communicate. There is no WiFi hotspots around and the meeting really needs to get underway. People could then resort to FaceTime 4G and have everyone present. Even if they are not there.

#4: More Camera Options.

If you compare the iPhone and iPad's camera features, compared to (for example: the Samsung Galaxy SIII), the camera features on the Samsung would win, hands down. We do not have Burst Mode, the ability to take a photo whilst capturing video, etc. If Apple were to introduce these features as a part of iOS 6, it would certainly have the potential to get more people involved in "iPhoneography".

#5: A Better Multitasking Experience

I find Apple's way of multitasking to be rather boring and not really influential. I don't really like the idea of having to double press the home button (on the iPhone, NOT iPad). If Apple could make multitasking look a little better and make it easier to navigate around. I would be extremely grateful.

So that concludes today's article. If you have any questions you want to ask me, or if you simply want to express your opinion, then feel free to leave a comment down below.

Asking Siri Questions

I love asking Siri a question and getting a witty remark as my answer. I thought it would be a good idea to test and see how many questions I could ask her and get fun responses for. I compiled a list of these comments and questions and the result is this video. Siri is really smart when it comes to facts and statistics because she is based upon Wolfram Alpha, but when it comes to being social and friendly, I think they could work on making that part a little more fun.

iCarbons iPhone 4S - Black Carbon Fiber Review

In today's article we are going to be taking a look at the Black Carbon Fiber skin for the iPhone 4S by iCarbons. Before the review starts, I would like to give a huge thanks to iCarbons.com for sending me this product out for review.

After using the phone with the skin installed for a whole week it's time to give you my honest review on this product.

The "iCarbons iPhone 4S - Black Carbon Fiber" skin, is one of the best review units I’ve ever got. The product has many more advantages than its disadvantages.

Let's start the review with what you will find in the box. In the box you'll find all the parts of the skin. One for the front, one for the back, one for the metallic antennas and two stickers for the Apple logo in the back and it’s twig (white & red).

Installation process was very easy. All you have to do is carefully place the skin on the device around the imports, speakers, cameras and buttons. If you fail installing, you can take it off and re-install it. The skin will be fine and  you will not face any issues. First install the front part, then the back part, after the antennas part and in the end, install the part for the Apple logo and the twig that is above it. To learn exactly how to install it please watch iCarbon's installation tutorial here.

The skin has perfect cut-outs for the lock button, the USB import, the 3.5mm headset import, the camera and flash, the front facing camera, light indicator, speakers, volume control and for the profile switcher button.

The skin makes the iPhone even more amazing with its beautiful 3D pattern. With the skin installed, the phone feels very solid and nice in the hand and you'll not face any problems using your device for many hours. If you already have a screen protector installed, you'll be still able to place the skin on it without any major problems. However, the iPhone will be a lot thicker and you'll not be able to install any cases on it.

After the advantages of the product, let's check out also its cons. I use my iPhone daily for many hours and with the skin installed I found out that the device is overheating. When I was using the phone without the skin for the same period of time it didn't overheat at all. So if you use your iPhone a lot that's a big con. Also, as all the skins, you'll not be able to fit your iPhone in any hard cases with the skin installed. You'll be able to use only some silicon ones. The last con is its price. It retails for 24.95$ on iCarbon's website. Although the product is great I think the company should lower the price because some reviewers or consumer will characterize this product as overpriced.

Overall iCarbons did a great job creating a high quality product that will make your phone even more beautiful, it will prevent it from minor scratches and it will make it feel better in the hand. I chose the black colour because my iPhone 4S is white and the reflection of white and black is amazing. The product is also available in white and red.

My rating for this product is 4.5/5.

If you are interested in purchasing the product, you can buy it from iCarbon's website for 24.95$ with free shipping: Product
