iPhone 3.0 Software On The Way

Apple has just announced  that they will be holding a special event for the release of iPhone software update 3.0 on Tuesday, March 17th. Not much is known about the event, but Apple is calling it an "advanced preview". So, I don't think we will be upgrading our iPhones just yet.

There is no word on who will be heading the event

Yet Another Graphics Card Problem For Apple

OK guys sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but I got some pretty bad news for all owners of the new 17in MacBook Pro. Engadget reports that the fans on the machine may cause your graphics card to produce glitches of some sorts. Engadget also reports that Apple and Nvidia are working on a solution. But I can't help thinking lately Apple has been having a lot of "glitches" and "issues" with a lot of there products

Thanks

New Stuff

So now the rumors have been confirmed, the new Mac Minis, iMacs, an Mac Pros have been unveiled. With more features, and more USB ports, the new hardware seems like a step in the right direction.

Although I have been waiting for the release of the new Mac Minis for some time, I was disappointed to find that the entry-level iMacs have gone up in price. Although we can all see why, the lovely new hardware, I think it is a bit of a let down. Apple has always introduced a better Mac, for a smaller price. Either way the new iMacs are a lovely edition.

Support for 4GB straight from the shop in the Mac Minis is also getting my thumbs up. The integration of the new processors in to the new Mac Pros is also a wonderful thing, now a Mac Pro is even more powerful, however the top configuration, with all the bells and whistles will cost you just short of £18,000 ($25,000)! However the hardware does kinda justify this price - plus it's a Mac!

Overall I am pleased with the updates, and am likely to buy a new Mini in the next few months! What do you guys think?

Apple - the trend-setter

We all know that Apple has great style, just look at Mac OS X for proof, but are they the industry standard for design nowadays? When Apple unveiled Coverflow the world gasped - and we can see why, one of the coolest things since free delivery for pizza! Just months after its introduction, multiple companies followed suite, and created a multitude of Coverflow-style apps. The web found itself revealing in them all, and now even software for Windows offers the feature.

So is it this, the trend-setting aspect of Apple, that keeps them on their toes? For avid fans such as myself I won't ever forget who came up with the design first, but those for those out there who don't know anything about it, they may be forgiven for not even knowing the word 'Coverflow', but who can easily recognise the loveliness of that new web-app of theirs that uses the same design.

Personally I really do think that it is this that forces them to change first in the ever-changing industry. And who can blame them, if your design had spread, wouldn't you want a new one? I belive that it is an important lesson for us all. If you want to get noticed, then be different, and kepp changing - no one likes to wear the same jumper everyday!
